When you visit the website, the services that host and serve it process normal technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as:

• your IP address
• browser and device information
• request and security logs
• other technical information needed to serve and protect the website

Selling From Within does not use behavioural analytics, advertising trackers or marketing cookies.

An account is optional. You only need one to use account-based features, such as saving your Diagnostic history and viewing your evolution over time. Where you provide it, we use:

• your email address
• your first name
• your preferred language
• your default sales role
• the authentication information needed to sign you in by Magic Link (a one-time sign-in link sent by email)

Creating an account does not subscribe you to the Selling From Within Journal.

The Diagnostic is a self-development and commercial reflection tool. It is not a psychological, medical or personality test, and it is not an employee performance assessment.

How your answers are handled

• While you take the Diagnostic, your answers are kept temporarily in your own browser so you can pause and continue.
• When you finish, your scores and results are calculated from those answers.
• Only the resulting assessment information is saved to your account.
• Your individual questionnaire answers are not stored on our servers. The temporary copy in your browser is removed once the assessment is complete.

What is saved

• the assessment date
• the role you selected
• your reading stage (how far you are in the book)
• dimension scores
• role-specific indicator results
• the generated interpretation
• evolution and comparison results between assessments

To produce your Diagnostic interpretation, development observations and evolution comparisons, we use derived information only: your calculated dimension scores, role and context information (such as role, language and reading stage) and other derived results. Your individual questionnaire answers are not sent.

This processing uses AI services provided by OpenAI, accessed through Lovable's AI Gateway. The AI only interprets scores that have already been calculated; it does not calculate or change them.

You can subscribe to the Selling From Within Journal with just your email address. You do not need an account. We use it to send new articles, practical templates and occasional resources related to B2B sales development and Selling From Within.

How subscribing works

• You enter your email address. This creates a subscription request.
• We send a confirmation email to that address.
• The subscription stays inactive until the owner of the address clicks the confirmation link. Confirmation links expire after 48 hours.
• After confirmation, you become eligible to receive the Selling From Within Journal.
• You can unsubscribe at any time.

We use a confirmation process (often referred to as double opt-in) to verify that the owner of the email address requested the subscription. An unconfirmed request is not an active subscription and receives no Journal emails.

What we keep

We keep only the limited information needed to demonstrate and manage your subscription:

• your email address
• where on the site you subscribed
• when you requested the subscription
• when you confirmed it
• your subscription status
• the version of the subscription wording you agreed to
• your unsubscribe information, where applicable
• technical delivery identifiers needed to deliver the emails

We do not record your IP address or browser fingerprint for the subscription.

Legal basis

The legal basis is your consent. A subscription request alone does not start Journal delivery: for email-only subscribers, consent is treated as confirmed when the confirmation link is successfully used. Subscribing is optional and you can withdraw your consent at any time.

Unsubscribing

Every Journal email includes an unsubscribe link, and no sign-in is needed to use it. Unsubscribing stops Journal emails. It does not delete your Selling From Within account, your Diagnostic results or your Profile data.

If you have an account

Account holders sign in with a verified email address through Magic Link and can turn the Journal on or off in their Profile. Because the email address is already verified and you switch the Journal on yourself, no second confirmation email is sent. Creating an account never subscribes you automatically.

• Your account and the features you request: processing necessary to provide the service you ask for.
• Providing and saving Diagnostic results: processing necessary to provide the Diagnostic you request.
• Selling From Within Journal: your consent.
• Security, abuse prevention and technical operation: our legitimate interest in operating and protecting the service.
• Legal compliance: legal obligation, where applicable.

We use specialised providers to run the service:

Supabase

Database, sign-in, file storage and server functionality. The main project database and its associated regional services are hosted in the West EU (Ireland) region. Some supporting services from the provider may operate outside that region.

Resend

Email delivery for Selling From Within Journal confirmation emails, Selling From Within Journal article emails, and sign-in (Magic Link) emails, including delivery-related technical information. Sign-in is passwordless, so no passwords are involved. Resend may process and store email-related information in the United States.

Lovable

Hosting and serving the website, its security and technical operation, and the AI Gateway used for Diagnostic interpretations.

OpenAI

AI services provided by OpenAI, used through Lovable's AI Gateway to generate Diagnostic interpretations and evolution comparisons from your calculated results.

Core application data is hosted in the EU. Some providers may process information outside the European Economic Area, for example in the United States. Where required, those providers use recognised safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or other legally recognised transfer mechanisms.

• Account and Profile: while your account is active or until you ask us to delete it, subject to any legal requirement to keep data longer.
• Diagnostic results: kept so you can see your history and evolution, until you ask for them or your account to be deleted, or until they are no longer needed.
• Journal subscription: while you are subscribed.
• Unconfirmed Journal requests: only as long as needed to complete the confirmation process, prevent abuse and manage subscription requests.
• After you unsubscribe: we may keep limited information so that your unsubscribe choice continues to be respected.
• Technical and security information: only as long as needed for security, operation and our providers' requirements.
• Email delivery records: according to operational and provider retention requirements.

Where applicable, you have the right to:

• access your personal data
• correct inaccurate data
• ask for your data to be deleted
• ask us to restrict processing
• receive your data in a portable format
• object to certain processing
• withdraw your consent at any time where processing is based on consent

Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before you withdrew it. To make a request, contact adrian@selling-from-within.com.

If EU or Spanish data protection law applies to you, you can also complain to the competent supervisory authority. In Spain this is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD). You are always welcome to contact us directly first.

The Selling From Within Diagnostic and its AI-generated interpretations are intended to support reflection and development. They do not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you, and they are not used for hiring, employment, credit or eligibility decisions.

Selling From Within is intended for professional and business use and is not designed as a service for children.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including access controls, restricted database access, encryption provided by our infrastructure and services, and handling privileged credentials only on the server. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Selling From Within does not use analytics, advertising or marketing cookies. The site uses your browser's local storage only for things that are needed for it to work:

• keeping you signed in, if you have an account
• remembering which page to return you to after you sign in
• remembering your chosen Diagnostic language
• temporarily keeping your Diagnostic progress so you can continue where you left off

Because these are strictly necessary for the features you choose to use, no cookie banner is needed.

The site links to external services such as Amazon and LinkedIn. Once you leave Selling From Within, their own privacy practices apply, and we do not control them.

We may update this policy when the service, our providers or legal requirements change. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of this page.
